The Visiting Room

In the corner a Muslim man reads the Koran.
I see several baby mama?s and girlfriends with kids or pregnant.
Please, keep your babies quiet,
I can not hear my number.
So I go to the counter to check.
Stressed and ignorance stares at me
and coldly says, ?your number wasn?t called, yet?.
I thought to myself , Bytch!
An hour or two goes by,
Tick, Tock, Tick Tock!
Still, my number isn?t called.
Anxiety begins to fill my soul
Like a glass of Hennessey.
Why am I here?
But I want to see him, I need to see him.
Talking myself into staying,
I walk to the bathroom.
?It?s nasty in here?, I say to myself.
So I squat over the toilet seat,
At least they have soap in here.
I walk back to the front,
There?s an empty chair.
An ole? head walks with crutches.
She needed it more than me.
Stressed and ignorance calls my number.
Down the hall I walk,
Another line is waiting.
?Put your shoes over here?
says ,another stressed individual.
Again she says to me,
?put your shoes over here?.
I thought to myself,
I heard you the 1st fukcing time!
?Please, unzip your pants?
?Could you lift your bra up?
?Could you take off your socks?
Asked ,the stressed individual.
I felt violated and confused,
It was nothing that I could do.
When I finally seen him,
I greeted him with a hug and smile.
To sympathize with him.
For being in a system,
That doesn?t give a fukc about their visitors or residents.
This truly isn?t the place for us,
This is the confession of a visitor
