Something Has To Change

9/8/2007 | 890 views | Category: Black Poems | Tags: Spoken Word Poem,

We live in a world where justice is just a word,

Hate is a constant feeling,

Destruction is a constant action,

Yet so many people are at ease,

Not willing to see that some things haven't changed since the 20's,

Yeah,

They're not as bad as they used to be,

But racial tensions still exist,

My hope is that one day everyone can move past this,

Love and live,

Isn't that the way things are supposed to be,

Instead of sitting here compromising our integrity,

Irrationally they think,

To make themselves tall they make others shrink,

And I can't stand it,

Looking at all of the things demanded,

This is something that we have to get over,

Instead of killing the hate,

We're killing each other,

Who has the right to determine the worth of another,

In consequence of these situations we all suffer,

I'm willing to make a change,

Try to change hate to love,

I just have one question,

Is this something anyone else wants to get rid of?

We'd rather look into
